Springfield House is a wonderful seaside house set in Lyme Regis, on the Devon/ Dorset Border. It is a big house with lots of character, lovingly restored and furnished by a London based interior designer. The house sleeps 12 adults in 6 bedrooms, with 2 additional high quality bunk beds. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their holiday. Children will love the big garden, trampoline, garden and games room - and of course the beaches.
Springfield House has a large lounge, with big French Windows opening onto the garden, a snug/TV room, dining room, big kitchen with breakfast area, snooker room and conservatory. Upstairs there are 6 bedrooms, four ensuite, including one family room with a double bed and bunk beds. Furthermore, there is a large games room.
Outside there is a big L-shaped garden with terraced area for BBQs and al fresco dining, a trampoline and decked viewing area. Also there is parking for 6-7 cars adjacent.
The house is a short walk from the beaches, gardens and harbour of Lyme Regis, a quintessential yet classy English seaside town, with lots to do for all ages. Top attractions are the different beaches, the harbour with its stone Cobb, fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast, crab catching, boat trips and wonderful walks along the Coast. The house is a few minutes walk from the renowned Hix Oyster and Fish House and about 15 minutes drive from the equally famous River Cottage HQ.
Springfield is the ideal destination for multiple families holidaying together or special occasion get togethers.
Either enter the house via Silver Street and through the walled garden by the conservatory or via the covered entrance on Woodmead Road. The front door leads to a stunning double height entrance hall with classic Georgian twisting staircase and large windows. Staying downstairs we look at the living space and going upstairs we explore the bedrooms.
Most rooms in the house have sea views – the higher up you are in the house, the more you sea.
The living space:
Heading to the living space first. The Kitchen is equipped for 14 people, it has 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers and plenty of other goodies. It has a large breakfast table. The dining room has a large table which can easily accommodate 14 or more people. Adjacent to it is the Snooker room which is equipped with a snooker table and plenty of activities for all the family. This in term leads on to the conservatory which has further anciliary relaxation and activity space. There are French doors from the Dining Room, Games Room and Drawing Room all of which open on to the Verandah and Gardens beyond.
Connected to both the dining room and the hallway is the most stunning room in the house. This living room has high ceilings and large scale French doors giving it a light and airy feel. It looks out over both Lyme Regis and the sea. There is a fire place which can take logs or coal and is the perfect room for relaxation and enjoyment. Further enjoyment can be had form the adjacent TV Snug/Cinema room with large plasma screen, assortment of DVDs, Sky and games.
In the basement there is a fully equipped Games room with table tennis, table football and air hockey

There are 6 bedrooms, which are all double rooms or greater in size.
Bedroom 1: can be made up as 2 singles or one superking plus on set of bunk beds.
Bedroom 2: either 2 singles or one superking plus en suite bathroom
Bedroom 3: either 2 singles or one superking plus en suite bathroom
Bedroom 4: king size bed plus large ensuite, this is the master bedroom and the en suite is large and luxurious.
Bedroom 5: either 2 singles or one superking plus en suite bathroom
Bedroom 6: either 2 singles or one superking
Family Bathroom: Bath, shower, sink and WC
Furthermore, there is a laundry room with washer and drier.
All bedrooms have ample hanging and storage space. Luxury hotel standard linen and towels are used throughout.
Springfield House has generous private gardens with ample seating, dining or leisure space. There is a large trampoline to keep children amused and a smattering of garden games for adults and children alike. The Verandah is a great covered seating / eating area with dining and relaxing space alongside useful equipment such as a BBQ.
