The Isle of Wight is rapidly becoming fashionable weekend territory for Londoners and others in the south east, its beachside restaurants, cuisine, shops and facilities all booming in response. Rentamanor gives you easy access to all the delights of the island - its wonderful beaches, quiet countryside, villages and towns.
Beyond the gardens, there's an abundance of country and coastal walks and cycle rides, lasting a full holiday and more. Walk the coastal path, through the Botanic Gardens down to Steephill Cove's sandy beach. You can explore rock pools, and take tea and homemade cakes in the tea rooms. There's a great restaurant on the beach, serving up the freshest catch of the day straight from the fishermen.
The Isle of Wight offers a huge variety of activities including excellent golf courses, round island coastal and country walks and cycle routes, surfing, wind surfing, gliding, horse riding, water skiing, river and sea fishing. It is also of great archaeological and historical significance with dinosaur museums and organised fossil hunts, where finders may take home dinosaur fossils millions of years old.
Queen Victoria's beloved Osborne House is open to visitors, as is Carisbrooke Castle, where Charles 1 was imprisoned. The Island Rock Festival held in June, recently headlining the Rolling Stones and attracting in excess of 70,000 fans, is becoming legendary, as is the smaller, more personal, Bestival held each September. Both sites are easily accessed on a daily basis from Rentamanor – you’ll certainly enjoy an amazing festival experience, far from the noise, crowds and discomforts of camping!
