Houses on the splendid scale of Plas Glansevin are few and far between. This large Georgian mansion and coach house caters for really large self-catering groups, ideal if you are looking for an unusual venue for a family gathering, hen night, conference retreat, university reunion or just about anything. The coach house can also be rented separately.
“After much searching, I found a wonderful mansion house in a fantastic location,” one guest wrote recently. “The rooms are a brilliant size with 2 or 3 beds per room, all en-suite. There is a large lounge, a TV room and a lovely dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped and it isn’t necessary to take anything with you. The price is reasonable and we had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.”
Plas Glansevin comprises the mansion (sleeps 37 max, normally 34) and the coach house (sleeps 17-23). The coach house technically accommodates 17, owing to lounge and dining room space, but actually has 23 beds, and the owners allow up to 23 with no extra charge. So the maximum capacity is 60. The coach house is 50 yards from the mansion.
You can book the property as a self-catering property for holidays or weekend breaks, and also as a fully equipped and serviced training venue for business clients. This is a unique retreat for large groups, close to castles, waterfalls, gardens and inspirational walks.
This is a building of great character, sleeping 60 with most bedrooms en suite. It’s ideal for large groups with something to celebrate. The swimming pool, wood-fired sauna by the pool (that can be used year round) and putting green complement the historical features. The reception rooms are big, the dining room enormous (seats 60) with oak beams and an inglenook fireplace. The main lounge has seats for 25 but there is another large lounge with a table tennis table, TV room and two smaller lounges (one with table football).
There is a large rear garden with access to the swimming pool, sauna and putting area.
General facilities include central heating, linen, sauna, telephone and towels. The kitchens have a dishwasher, freezers, fridges, grill, hob, microwave and ovens. In both properties there is a cassette player, CD player, radio, TV, DVD and video, and various cosy open fires.
Outside, guests can make full use of the ten acres of gardens, the large charcoal-burning barbecue and the unheated pool with its wood-burning sauna (available year round). All firewood and coal for fires in the house is provided. At the back of the house is a large lawn suitable for football and cricket etc.
Both properties have washing and drying machines.
Children are welcome. Sorry, no pets.
