The Lamacraft family, who own Knowle Manor, have been providing holidays on Exmoor for the past 85 years. Knowle is a handsome big house within the National Park, with its own indoor pool, fabulous walks and rides on the doorstep and only two miles from the Somerset beaches. Self-catering groups of any size can book the house, from 12 to a grand total of 55! It's ideal for all manner of occasions, whether family holidays, special birthdays, weekend celebrations or wedding parties
With 20 en-suite bedrooms, the manor is as spacious as a small hotel, yet allows you the luxury of having it all to yourselves with the ability to cook whatever you like, when you like. The kitchen is a large working kitchen.
There's a games room with a full size snooker table and table tennis, and a good-sized indoor pool in its own separate building. Bring your walking boots - the house has direct access to glorious rambles through the Exmoor countryside.
The 15 en-suite bedrooms on the first floor can accommodate up to 32 people; the second floor has another five en-suite rooms sleeping up to 15. All are beautifully decorated in country house style.
Various large rooms can be used for conference groups.
All utilities have been thought of for a large self-catering group, including sizeable fridges, freezers and a larder, a big range cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
All linen and towels are provided. The property is centrally heated throughout, and fuel is provided for the open fires. There's patio furniture and a barbecue in the garden.
A marquee can be hired and put up at the front for wedding receptions.
Extra services available include a local caterer with a team of waitresses, and a pair of French chefs. All can come to the house and prepare meals to your requirements, or deliver ready-made dishes. Please note that a charge of £50 is made for pets.

At Knowle you can enjoy fishing in your own lake (stocked with rainbow trout and carp) or angle for brown trout in the river Aville which meanders through the grounds. Practicing golf or archery and playing croquet on the front lawn are always popular with guests.
You can access Exmoor's fantastic walks, rides and mountain bike trails direct from the house, and various maps are provided. On occasion you can spot red deer grazing the fields and lawns at Knowle.
Other attractions close by include Dunster village and its castle, Tropiquaria, the Lynton and Barnstaple Steam Railway and Exmoor Zoo. Minehead is a busy town with active nightlife. You can also take a ride on the West Somerset steam railway or a boat trip to the island of Lundy to view its puffins and seals. There's golf available at Minehead as well as various local 18-hole courses.
