Knockerdown Farm Cottages have a delightful Peak District setting, and great facilities for a large group of adults and children. Guests have free use of the leisure facilities which include a 30-foot indoor heated swimming pool with shower and changing facilities, a sauna, table tennis and a pool table. There's also a restaurant on site, a holistic spa you can book treatments with, a pub serving good food next door, walking and cycling in the National Park, and a sailing/windsurfing centre a five minute walk away.
As a large group you can take over one, several or all of the cottages (there are 18 altogether). The original group of properties are converted from a 19th century farmhouse and barns, set around a landscaped courtyard, while a few newer cottages have been added in more recent years, constructed entirely within keeping. The cottages are all 3-4 star rated by The English Tourism Council and are well equipped, maintained and decorated in country/modern style. Many still have original features, echoing their 19th century origins.
Outside there are patio areas and plenty of space for relaxing. A children's play area has been set up in a wooded part of the grounds, and there are peaceful spots for picnics and barbecues within the three acres of farmland.
The on-site restaurant provides home-cooked meals and has a take-away service. It is also available for private hire for wedding receptions, parties etc. There's a traditional inn next door too, which serves meals all day and has a further children's play area. If you take over Knockerdown Farm as a group of up to 92 you can all buffet together in the Restaurant; alternatively, up to 70 people can sit down and dine together, more in spring/summer as there is also outdoor seating (obviously, advance notice will need to be given).
