The nearest town is Forfar, just 4 miles away, famous for Strathmore Springs mineral water. The ancient town is home to a vast amount of historical interest, dating back to the Roman Invasions, when a succession of Roman camps were established North of Forfar. The town also has numerous shops and a leisure centre nearby.

Close to the Angus Glens, there are plenty of outdoor pursuits to entertain guests at Kinnettles Castle, with the annual walking festival in the summer a favourite.
