Like its sister property within the same estate, Fuzzy Orchard has been ultimately designed with family gatherings and social occasions in mind. The setting is ideal, surrounded by rolling Somerset countryside and completely private, so that house parties can, literally, party to their hearts’ content! There are walks and cycle rides galore, a fabulous indoor pool and sauna, a hot tub for the hardy on the patio and big, modern entertaining areas. The house sleeps 12 in six modern bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
There is plenty to do here for children – climbing frame, trampoline etc – plus toys for the adults which include a pool table, table football and a flat screen TV.
Fuzzy Orchard is a house for lovers of light, bright, sunny and minimalist Swedish style. If antiques, tradition and history are more your cup of tea, this may not be the place for you.
The large, ground floor living area is well-equipped and spacious with stone floors and underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen/diner looks out over the valley and is built for easy living, with a table big enough for everyone. There are two large ovens, a halogen hob, a microwave and two dishwashers. Next door is the games/TV room, which leads to two of the six double/twin bedrooms (all of which have zip-and-link beds and thoroughly modern bathrooms ensuite).
Just off the kitchen is a WC/utility room with the pool building beyond where there is a 10m x 5m pool (4 feet deep throughout) and sauna.
The big, open plan living room is on the first floor, to take advantage of sweeping views – the floor-to-ceiling window certainly makes the most of them! Wooden flooring throughout the first floor gives a wonderful feeling of space and style. The four bedrooms up here all have TVs. Two of the ensuites are wet rooms, two have free-standing baths and walk-in showers.
As mentioned, these include an indoor pool, sauna and hot tub. The games room has a pool table, table football, an iPod dock and Sky TV.
Onsite pampering is available at the house, and an evening of Argentinian tango lessons can be arranged for everyone. Babysitting and child care can be discussed with the owners, and a list of imaginative local caterers is provided on the house website (see below).
A rural setting, close to the village of Wellisford. There are three local gastropubs within five miles. Online supermarket deliveries are available.

This part of Somerset boasts everything from beautiful local walks to great pubs to fun family attractions.
Surrounded by rolling hills with fantastic views, this is an excellent base for exploring the scenery, villages, pubs and walks of Exmoor National Park. Dunster Castle, for example, is only a few miles away, as are the charming little coastal towns of Porlock and Lynton & Lynmouth. Woolacombe and Exmouth have great bucket-and-spade beaches for children. Exeter and Tauton have good shops, cinemas etc. Crealy Adventure Park, the West Somerset Railway and Paignton or Bristol Zoo are also child favourites. Other days out include Cheddar Caves and Gorge, the beautiful gardens at Bicton Park, and medieval Cothay Manor, one of Somerset’s finest historic houses.
Various activities can be arranged, including horse riding, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, surfing, archery and laser shooting.
