Located in the wonderful and unspoilt Gascony region of South West France, Chateau de Lartigolle is one of Europe's leading locations for private bespoke weddings, events and holidays.
The owners of the Chateau, Nick, Emma and Chris live on site, and are there to make sure your stay is exactly as you want it to be. Whether you come for a quite retreat with close family and friends, a wedding or large celebration of up to 120 guests, the service they offer is both highly personal and extremely professional. Together with their team, they offer a comprehensive event planning, catering and housekeeping service tailored to the needs of your group.
The catering services at the chateau range from breakfast only with a limited amount of daily housekeeping, to a full service including breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas and suppers, plus snacks and drinks. You don't have to take advantage of these services, you are more than welcome to cater for yourselves in the wonderfully appointed kitchen or you can have a little of both. Their service is friendly and discrete. You can be as private as you wish or allow the team to look after your every need and introduce you to the wonderful region of the Gers and all it has to offer.
In the chateau there are five large double bedrooms, one large family bedroom suitable for four people and a large studio room that can sleep up to six people comfortably. There are also two double bedrooms in the wing of the chateau.
All of the rooms are ensuite and beautifully decorated to a very high standard. The bedrooms in the main chateau each have their own unique style, with contemporary and antique furniture from France, London and New York complimented by spectacular hand-printed wallpapers. There are two further bedrooms in the chateau wing. The max number of guests is currently 22.
During the winter of 2011 there are plans to create a further six bedrooms increasing the maximum occupancy up to 36 guests.
The chateau has something for everyone. For adults the château offers elegant and extremely stylish surroundings. There are three beautiful salons, one with a fantastic baby grand piano, a snooker room, with full size table and a library to escape to when it all gets too much. There is a great room for the kids, with a selection of toys, baby-foot and a Sky TV/DVD system. There is an iPod docking station and WiFi is available.
The 11 hectares of grounds offer plenty of space to play. There is a beautiful tennis court and the 16m swimming pool and surrounding deck are the perfect sun trap. Perched on the side of the hill this area offers beautiful views down the valley and the gardens offer plenty of space to find a quiet corner to read or have a gentle snooze. You can also play table tennis and boules in the main courtyard.
If you are feeling more active close-by there is horse-riding, quad-biking, canoeing, and rafting available, along with tree top adventure and water parks.
This privately owned chateau, set in the middle of 11 hectares of grounds and woodland is located 10 minutes from Auch, the Prefectoire of the Gers, in the southwest of France. It is just 45 minutes from Toulouse airport.
This is farming country, dotted with tiny medieval hillside villages, busy market towns, and laced with rivers, lakes and forests. With the recent increase in low-cost flights to the region and improvement in road and rail infrastructure, the area has become far more accessible, yet is still relatively undiscovered.
The best places to visit include:
Auch: Ten minutes away with a fabulous year round market on Thursdays and Saturdays. The historic centre has a spectacular 13th century cathedral, restaurants and some fine shops. The beautiful Bois d’Auch (wood) on the edge of town has paths to ramble and a fitness trail for the energetic.
Toulouse: Officially the fastest growing city in Europe, with a well-renowned music academy, fabulous museums and galleries and numerous bars and restaurants and great shopping. Toulouse displays an exotic clash of French and Basque cultures, architecture and food.
The Pyrenees: Beautiful villages and scenery just over an hour away. For winter skiing, head for St Lary, perfect for families and beginners. This is also a great spot for river rafting, canoeing, hiking, climbing and mountain biking. Beyond St Lary is the breathtaking Valley de Rioumajou with tall pine trees, green pastures and winding rivers. This is where the locals go for summer picnics and lazy afternoons.
Activities local to Chateau de Lartigolle include waterparks, quadbiking, horse riding, canoeing, ballooning, flying and rafting. The Pyrenees are just 1h and 30 mins drive, where from late December to late March the skiing is great for families and much cheaper than the Alps.
