A region in the South of France best known for its coastal resorts, the area boast a range of fine beaches perfect for a relaxing get-away. The typical ‘Landaise’ resort features the vast expanse of sand and sea to the front, backed by a village brimming with restaurants – offering visitors all you’d expect from a seaside break.
Further inland lies the Landes National Park, providing stark contrast to the coastline a visit allows you to enjoy a range of activities, from swimming and boating on the lakes to horse riding, cycle trails and the opportunity to ramble along marked routes.
Travel to the north of the region and wine country is on your doorstep; whilst a visit to areas such as Cote De Argent and Cote Basque offer the culture and heritage of a bygone age.
In the south of the region is the town called Dax – a spa town with a rich history. The area still retains many Roman ruins and many of the local villages are brimming with character. One of a few spa towns in the area, it’s a wonderful place to explore.
