Offering some of the finest examples of French tradition and cuisine, this area of South-West France that borders the Pyrenees is a delightful place to get away from the metropolitan centres of the cities and replace the busy life-style with a traditional French experience.

A number of old-traditional villages and chateaux stand and tell the stories of years gone by in this area of France and with local artists and craftsmen showing off their talents, there’s so much to take in.

The towns of Bordeaux, Dax and the historical capital of Auch are some of the best places to enjoy the architecture and sights in the area including the magnificent Cathédrale Sainte-Marie that is a marvel in itself.

However, if you’d rather enjoy the wonderful countryside, then Gascony is a popular centre for horse-riding and equestrian events, as well as cycling and fishing in the well-stocked rivers. All of this together means that this area is an ideal place to get away for a relaxing group holiday.

The food here, like many other parts of France is simply superb. Duck and goose are the traditional dishes of the region and are enjoyed regularly by both locals and visitors. With such great agriculture there are plenty of places in which to enjoy fresh local produce around the area, and with the mild climate providing the perfect environment in which to make wine, it’s easy to see why living here is considered such a wonderful pleasure.
